Prof. Dr. med. Jörg Debatin

Jörg Debatin combines a distinguished academic career with tenures at Duke, Stanford, Zürich and Essen, where he served as Chair of the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology with an outstanding career in Hospital Management. As Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer he oversaw the transformation of the University Medical Center Hamburg-
Eppendorf into a showcase of organizational innovation in Germany and beyond.

Jörg subsequently pursued an industrial career as CEO of the blood- and tissue-based diagnostic services provider amedes AG. Until recently he served as the Global Chief Technology and Medical Officer of GE Healthcare.

Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Dr.-Ing. h.c. Heinz-Otto Peitgen

Heinz-Otto Peitgen is Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at Bremen University and Florida Atlantic University where he served for more than three decades. A pioneer in the study of fractal geometry and chaos theory, Prof. Peitgen has been instrumental in the digital transformation of image based diagnostics and surgery.
He is the founder of Fraunhofer MEVIS, Institute for Medical Image Computing, and co-founder of MeVis Medical Solutions AG which was acquired by Varian Medical Systems, Inc. in 2015. Prof. Peitgen was awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his outstanding contribution to science.

Stefan K. Widensohler

Stefan K. Widensohler serves as the Vice Chairman of the Federal German Medical Technology Association (BVMed). He is one of Germany’s most successful healthcare entrepreneurs. Among others, he co-founded Invatec SpA, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of minimally invasive products for interventional cardiology and
peripheral vascular interventions, which he sold to Medtronic Inc. in 2010. Stefan Widensohler is on the board of directors of a number of international medical device companies, Chairman of the Board of Xeltis and an active investor and mentor to startups in this area.​
